Run · Automation
Keep the program running without sending a thing by hand.
Welcome and successful referral emails go out on their own, in your words. Every change to a participant can update Slack, HubSpot or Zapier, and webhooks send the rest to your own endpoint.

How does automation work?
- 1
Emails go out on their own
In the Communication step, switch on the emails you want: the Welcome email, an Organic Signup Welcome Email, a Referred User Welcome Email and the Successful referral email, which is on from the start. Milestone emails go out as each milestone is reached.
- 2
Written in your words
Edit any email: the From name, a subject with merge tags like *|INVITEEFNAME|*, the reply-to address and the content, with a live preview beside it.
- 3
Your other tools react
Each change to a participant can send the relevant emails and run your integrations, even a change you make by hand in their profile. Slack posts new participants, HubSpot gets the contact and Zapier passes the event on.
- 4
Webhooks for everything else
Campaign events go to your own endpoint: a participation, a milestone reached or a reward redeemed. Failed deliveries are retried for up to 4 days.
What can you set up in automation?
Every option by its name in the app, with the plan that includes it.

FAQ
Automation FAQ
Which emails go out on their own?
The Welcome email, separate welcomes for organic sign-ups and for referred friends, the Successful referral email and milestone emails. Turn each one on or off in the Communication step.
Can I write the emails myself?
Yes. Each email has a From name, a From email address, a subject, a reply-to and its content, with a live preview. Merge tags like *|INVITEEFNAME|* fill in names.
Can I send them from my own email tool instead?
Yes. Turn off the emails in the Communication step and send from HubSpot, Klaviyo or Mailchimp, which get each participant's referral link.
What happens when I change a participant by hand?
With Send relevant emails and Run integrations on in their profile, your change sends the emails and updates your tools like any other. Turn them off for a quiet fix.
Which events can webhooks send?
Participation, milestone reached and reward redeemed. Failed deliveries are retried for up to 4 days. Webhooks are on Plus and up.
How often do booster emails go out?
Every two weeks on all plans, or every week on Growing and Power.
